PTFA
YOUR Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA)
What is PTFA? Why join PTFA?
The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher and Friends Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school.
INSPIRE a generation
Make a difference through fundraising for your child’s school.
The aim of the PTFA at Echelford is to provide the school with many of the extras to enrich your child’s school experience that would otherwise not be available from the annual school budget. Working with your class representatives, we organise fun, social and fundraising events throughout the year and aim to inspire a sense of belonging and contributing to a community in our children and within the school.
All parents with children at Echelford are automatically members of the PTFA. If you are new to Echelford it can be a great way of getting to know other parents and teachers, make new friends, and have some fun.
These include the Christmas Craft and Gift Fair, (complete with Santa’s Grotto), Spooky Disco, Family fun nights /discos, quiz nights and pamper evenings. In previous years, the PTFA have provided the school with large items such as a brand new minibus, an adventure trail for the playground, hall curtains and refurbishment, curriculum resources for literacy and numeracy, reading books for the new library and playground equipment. Annually the PTFA raise approximately £10,000.
Our main fundraising event of the year is the Summer Fayre, held in June. Many parents and teachers help out on the day running stalls and selling refreshments. As in previous years we raised £4,500 on this event and this could not have been achieved without the great number of ’30 minute’ volunteers on the day.
The PTFA functions with the voluntary help of many parents, grandparents and carers alike. We all use the skills and time we have, however we can, to make our events fun and enjoyable for the children and to ensure we make the most proceeds we can for the school.
